Day 18: Bellingham, WA I'm Back!

Well, it has almost been 10 days since I have written on this blog.

Here's my update: The reason for my absence is every traveler's worst nightmare, that's right, COVID. On day 9 of our trip, just before we made it into Oregon, Tamara started to feel sickly. She thought it was just a case of sinuses but decided to go to the Eureka Urgent Care to get some medicine. However, we got the unfortunate news that she was positive with COVID. That day we were supposed to drive through the Red Wood National Park and Crater Lake, but since we had a late start to the day and Tamara was not feeling well we decided to skip over Crater Lake and do a quick drive through Red Woods. We got to our hotel in Chiloquin, OR and began thinking of the best way to handle our situation. We were supposed to go to Boise, ID for 2 days then Portland, OR for a day, before making it to our final destination in Bellingham, WA. We decided we would instead make the long drive from Chiloquin straight to Bellingham (Photos 1 and 2- we quickly passed through Crater Lake on the way) and quarantine in my Mammie and Papa's basement until we all were testing Negative again. So, that is what we have been doing. To make matters worse, this meant we could not go on our week long Alaskan cruise but, we got back our cruise credits and have the ability to go next summer!

Today: Finally after nearly a week of all of us being positive with COVID, we all tested negative.
