Day 3: Flagstaff, AZ -> Las Vegas, NV

This morning we woke up in Flagstaff at 5 am! Thankfully with time change in our favor, it feels like 7 am Houston time. We woke up early because we wanted to beat the crowd to the Grand Canyon National Park, and we sure did, we almost had the whole park to ourselves! The view from the overlook just right inside the park is outstanding (photo 1)! This was my first time at the Grand Canyon and it certainly did not disappoint. After that we ventured off to the Hoover Dam (photo 2), then onward to Las Vegas for the night.

Update: Once we arrived in Las Vegas we did A LOT of walking, we walked Freemont street, the strip, all over Caesars Palace, and across numerous massive casinos. Las Vegas at night time is certainly an awesome sight to see, the twinkling lights are on every building, even McDonalds! Once you get over the fact that everywhere smells like cigarettes or marijuana (or both), it is a very cool town with loads to see. I chose to not bring my camera because walking around a busy center with a camera did not sound like the best idea to me, plus we went to see a Cirque Du Soleil show that night and I figured cameras would not be allowed in. The Cirque Du Soleil show was themed after The Beatles and included tons of Beatles songs and voice overs. It is truly amazing what some of these acrobats can do, the show also included; trampoline artist, very talented roller skaters, contortionist, and dancers. We left the show blown away!
